Studies have shown that pig manure is a repository of antibiotic resistance genes (ARG). However, little is known about the characteristics of ARGs in the feces of piglets and adult pigs fed different diets. In this study, high-throughput fluorescent quantitative PCR was used to analyze the ARG characteristics of piglets and adult pig feces fed different diets (feed, grain). The correlation between heavy metals, antibiotics and ARGs in pig manure was analyzed. The results showed that the content of heavy metals and antibiotics in fed pig manure was significantly higher than that in feed pig manure. The content of heavy metals and antibiotics in piglet manure is higher than that of adult pigs. Feed significantly increases the ARG diversity in pig manure. The ARG diversity in piglet manure is higher than that of adult pigs. Compared with grain-fed pigs, 25 (from piglets) and 12 (from adult pigs) ARGs were significantly enriched in the manure of fed pigs. In particular, sat4 (in piglets) and vatE-01 (in adult pigs) showed the highest degree of enrichment, increasing by 59 times and 19 times, respectively.
